¹⁶ And he causes everyone— the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free and the slaves— that they^[a] should give them a mark on their right hand or on their forehead, ¹⁷ and that no one should be able to buy or to sell except the one having the mark: the name of the beast or the number of his name. ¹⁸ Here^[b] is wisdom. Let the one having understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number^[c] of a man. And his number is six-hundred sixty six.
